Digital Portrait Studies

This project, created for our class sketchbook exercises, marked a huge shift in my confidence working digitally. Painting from photo references, I was really able to explore the translucent nature of skin and how it reflects light. This assignment felt more like play than work and the observation made me a stronger portrait painter not only digitally, but also in traditional mediums as the same color principles apply.
