“Gone Hiking” Spot Illustrations

This project was all about spot illustrations for an article in Backpacker Magazine. The article, “Gone Hiking,” tells the story and journey of Andy Lyon, a hiker and astrophysics student who hiked the PCT following a terminal cancer diagnosis. His deeply moving story inspired me to create these four spot illustrations that detail different vignettes in the article. I originally drew these spots by hand, scanned them, and edited them in Photoshop.
